I’ve been on a hunt for the perfect foundation for a long time. I was pretty certain I found a great one when I started using Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD foundation (review of that one here). As great as it was, I’ve found one that’s even better! Can you guess the best foundation I’ve ever used?
Best Foundation Ever?
Ok, enough suspense…..it’s the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation! It’s literally the best foundation I’ve ever used, up until this very moment that you’re reading this post. That’s a huge claim to make too because I’ve used tons of foundations (including all of the ones you see at the top of this post), from drugstore to high end. And, this one is the most pricey I’ve ever used too. If I’ve learned anything through beauty blogging, it’s that some products are worth splurging on, and I believe foundation is one of them. So what makes this one so much better than the others?
First, About My Skin Type
This might be helpful as you read on or make a decision about this foundation. I have combination skin with dry areas on my cheeks and an oily t-zone. I have large pores, some redness, some scarring, and am prone to small breakouts (especially the hormonal kind).
About NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
It’s a full coverage, natural finish foundation that lasts for up to 16 hours. I only need a couple pumps to cover my entire face. A thin layer hides redness, uneven skin tone, blemishes, and imperfections without looking or feeling heavy. It blends in with skin within minutes and feels lightweight. It’s not a thick foundation like many of the others I’ve tried. I get a natural luminous finish all day that isn’t too matte or too oily and remains unchanged throughout the day. The finish, the coverage, the length of wear – perfection!
Here’s a swatch of the shade I use – Ceylan. This shade is great for my tan skin.
Should You Try It?
I know that not all foundations will work well for everyone because of varying skin types and issues. While this foundation is perfect for my combination skin, it might not work as well for your skin. Example: I wanted to love Estée Lauder Double Wear because everyone was going nuts over it, but it settled into my pores and fine lines in a way that made them more noticeable. Everyone is different and we all want different things when it comes to what a foundation can offer. So, you might want to give this foundation a try if you liked the features I talked about. If you don’t want to spend the money just to try it, you can always go into a Sephora store and ask for a sample of it.
I’m loving this foundation and want to continue to use it. I’ve also heard good things about NARS Sheer Glow, so I feel like I should give it a shot for comparison reasons.
