Leather is one of those materials that just gets better with age. But scuffs, dryness, and everyday wear can really take a toll on your favorite pieces. I recently tried out a leather care kit that claims to clean, condition, and restore all kinds of leather goods, and I was curious to see if it actually lives up to the hype. Leather Honey was kind enough to send me their Leather Care Kit so I could put it to the test on my armchair. We’ve had this leather chair for years and we did not get it new, so it’s been through a lot of wear and tear. I’ve never used any products on it, so it definitely needed to be revived.
Before

The leather cleaner deep cleans the leather, removing dirt and grime. The leather conditioner softens, protects, and restores the leather, which will help extend its life. Using the Kit
First, I used the Leather Cleaner to thoroughly clean the chair. I applied it to one of the cloths and then started gently wiping the chair in sections. I could see the dirt coming off onto the cloth. Then, I let it dry before moving onto the next step. Once dry, I started applying the conditioner a little bit at a time, making a thin, even layer on the leather. I let it dry overnight and checked on it the next day.
The Results
It looks so much better! There’s a clear difference between the before and after. The color deepened (back to where it should be) and the chair doesn’t look so dry and cracked like it did before. It looks soft and supple with some shine – the way leather should look. I can’t believe I waited so long to do this.
Final thoughts
I never realized how important it was to take care of your leather until I came across these products. I wish I had found them sooner. The Leather Care Kit was so simple and easy to use too. Next, we’ll be using it on one of our car’s leather seats.
