Traveling soon? If so, you might need a few good ideas on what to pack when it comes to beauty. I’ve made a list of 15 beauty items you should include in your travel bag or luggage that will make life much easier while away!
15 Beauty Items You Need in Your Travel Bag
1. Makeup Setting Spray
Your days might be jam-packed with fun activities. You don’t want to have to worry about your makeup and how long it will last. Use a making setting spray to set your makeup once it’s finished and it will last a lot longer without wearing off, fading, or smudging.
2. Nail File
You never know when your nail is going to break or get snagged. It happens to me so often that I always keep a nail file on me so that I can prevent a broken nail beyond repair. You’re not immune to nail mishaps while traveling either, so if you want to keep your pretty mani intact, you might want to bring a file along with you. Glass nail files work the best!
3. Makeup Sponge
I use a beautyblender every single day to apply and blend foundation and other products like blush, concealer, and powder. I prefer this method to using brushes (even though I have so many of them!). While traveling, it’s nice to have things that are multi-functional so that you can cut down on how much you bring. Get yourself a beautyblender or similar makeup sponge and leave all those face brushes at home!
4. Cotton swabs
If you make a mistake with your makeup, you might not have the time to redo it. A cotton swab can clean up the edges of a red lip, lift mascara mishaps, and fix a failed cat eye. If your mistake is being stubborn, you can dab an end of your cotton swab into your moisturizer and use it to erase what you need to. Then fill back in if necessary. There are even special swabs you can find with makeup remover already inside of them!
5. Eyeshadow Palette
An eyeshadow palette is much easier to bring on your travels than single shadows. It’s a good idea to pick one that contains a range of shades so that you can create different looks, from natural to intense! Also consider bringing one that snaps closed or has a strong magnetic closure. As long as it doesn’t easily open up on it’s own, it’s good to go.
6. Dry Shampoo
Traveling doesn’t always allow for the full amount of time you normally need to get ready. No shower, no problem. Spray some dry shampoo onto your roots and choose a quick style. This works great to revive your second day curls or if you need a little refresh to your hair during the day.
7. Rollerball Fragrance
Taking a rollerball (or a few) on a trip makes things super easy. They don’t take up much room in your travel bag and won’t spill out. Most perfumes come in a rollerball version so you can still take your favorites with you and they’re not expensive to get.
8. Makeup Remover Wipes
These come in travel size packs, making it super easy to be able to remove your makeup on a trip. Just because you’re traveling doesn’t mean you should skip taking off your makeup every night. It’s important to keep it up everyday if you want healthy, beautiful skin.
9. Liquid lipstick
Not only are liquid lipsticks popular, but they last on your lips for a long time, even after eating. It’s a perfect travel product because you can have your lips looking great without constant reapplication of your lip color.
10. Acne Spot Treatment
It’s not unlikely that you might breakout while traveling. It’s a bummer when it happens, but not so much if you’re prepared. Bring a good spot treatment and you can start treating it right away. A treatment will hopefully reduce blemishes overnight so that they’re less noticeable and you can carry on having carefree fun!
11. Hair Mousse
Hair mousse can tame flyaways and frizz without altering your style. Mousse was a lifesaver for me when the humidity of Mexico took a toll on my locks. I was frizz city until I smoothed my strands with this mousse. I used it on mom’s hair too. Crisis averted.
12. Body Cloths
There are disposable body cloths you can get that will help you freshen up when needed. You can wipe away sweat with these scented cooling cloths so a day in the sun won’t leave you smelling ripe or feeling gross. No need for a second shower!
13. Sunscreen
This should be a given, but I wouldn’t be a good beauty blogger if I didn’t mention it. Pack that sunscreen and make sure you use it! Sun protection is essential no matter what.
14. Cuticle Oil
While not totally necessary, I found myself wishing I had some cuticle oil on my recent trip. My cuticles had been wrecked by the manicure I got before leaving. Cuticle oil helps heal dry, peeling, and cracked cuticles while also preventing those things.
15. Nail Polish Remover Wipes
If your mani isn’t holding up, you can swipe your nails clean with on-the-go wipes that remove polish quickly and easily. No need to pack a bottle of remover and cotton balls. The less you have to pack, the better!
Now that you know some good things to take on your travels, it’s time to get packing! How many of these things will you be taking with in your travel bag on your next trip?
