Sally Beauty challenged me to take the (hair) dare to get my best color ever, so I did a little research and discovered an awesome product to add temporary metallic color to your hair. It’s a product found at Sally’s, called Ion® Color Brilliance® Brights Metallics Temporary Hair Color. I decided to give myself rose gold hair and not only was it easy, but there was very little mess involved and it turned out beautifully. Keep reading to discover what shades are available, how to use the product, and the before and after pics! Check out the #SallyHairDare hashtag on social sites to get more ideas on cool hair looks!

- The color is temporary and lasts 1-2 shampoos
- You get instant metallic color!

- The process is very easy and simple!
How I gave myself rose gold hair!
1. The directions said to apply the hair makeup to clean, dry hair, so that’s where I started – a shower! I also read that I would need to use a hair dryer and comb, so I made sure to have them close by. To make the process even simpler, I opted to wear gloves as well as use a bowl and brush for easy application. I used a professional hair color kit from Ion Color Brilliance that included the gloves, bowl, and brush.
2. After all that prep (which really wasn’t much), I was ready for application. I poured the color into the bowl and started painting small sections of hair with rose gold color. I focused on applying it to the areas where I had balayage highlights as those areas were lighter and would show the color more.
3. After applying color to each small section, I combed the hair and blow-dried it. That was it! So easy. I even had product left over in the bottle to use another time.
Before & After
I’m loving my rose gold hair. I’m beyond impressed with this product and can’t wait to try the other colors! I think Empire Gold will really bring out my highlights. This was much easier to use than similar products I’ve tried before and it was a lot less messy. Plus, the results actually lasted without rubbing off or fading away very quickly. It’s a fun way to wear color in your hair for a day or two. I can only imagine what these metallic colors would look like on light hair too! I’m glad I’ve found this brand and it looks like they have a lot more products to offer as well.

Hi! Do you have any idea how this would stick to dark hair? I just don’t want to bleach my hair. Thank you.
