Laura Geller is one of my favorite beauty brands. I find myself picking up new products from Laura Geller pretty frequently. So, needless to say, I was beyond excited to be offered a product from the brand. As a blogger, it’s one of the most rewarding things to be contacted by one of your favorite brands. I received the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator
This illuminator applies like a sheer powder, yet feels like a cream. You can apply it all over the face for a “lit-from-within glow” or use it to highlight certain features. The swirly design of the product mimics the look of the delicious Italian dessert, gelato. The 3-D swirl lasts throughout the product too! Like all of the Baked products from Laura Geller, the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator begins as liquid pigments that are baked and hand-finished in Italy. Fancy, no?
The Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator comes in 2 shades: Gilded Honey and Ballerina. Gilded Honey, the one I’m featuring, is a warm shimmering gold. Ballerina is a beautiful subtle pink color.
My Thoughts
Two words: Gorgeous product! It’s almost too pretty to touch. I like to apply it to the areas I want to highlight: top of cheeks, cupid’s bow, and a bit in the forehead/nose/chin regions. I mainly focus on the cheeks though.
The swatch below shows the luminous golden hue that comes from one swipe of the product.
Of course, when applied with a brush, it doesn’t look so intense. It’s not an overly dramatic or frosty highlight. Because of its translucent base, it allows your skin to show through for a natural look. It blends easily to give a sheer sun-kissed glow to the skin.
Side note: Ballerina looks like it would be pretty too, but Gilded Honey seems to be the right choice for my skin tone.
Just like the other Laura Geller products in my makeup collection, this one does not disappoint. It’s popular right now for a good reason!
