One thing I love about makeup experimentation is trying new foundations. It can be hard to find one that works perfectly though. Recently, I picked up a new one that I haven’t used before, surprisingly. I’ve never paid such a high price for a foundation, but I just couldn’t carry on living life without trying a Make Up For Ever foundation! I’m currently using the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD. Keep reading to find out what I think of it.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD
The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD foundation was created to give a flawless complexion on and off camera, even behind an uber-detailed 4K lens. It provides medium to buildable coverage while remaining lightweight and natural-looking. It’s available in 40 different shades to match all skintones!
I wear 120=Y245 Soft Sand (I’m NC20 in MAC for reference). There could not be a more perfect shade for me; it’s my exact color! I apply it with a Beauty Blender, covering my entire face, then building up the areas that need a little more coverage.
It gives me a luminous natural glow that helps my dry cheeks look more dewy. I have an oily t-zone, so I set that area with a powder and I’m good to go for the day. Picking foundations can actually be quite a challenge for me because some matte finishes make parts of my skin look too dry and some dewy finishes can make parts look too oily. I have to find foundations that balance and this is one that does it well.
It sits on my skin so lightly that it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing makeup. I don’t notice it wearing off and the coverage is pretty good. It hides redness, blemishes, and imperfections pretty well.
I didn’t ever try the original HD foundation so I can’t compare the two. All in all, I recommend this foundation and would repurchase it (despite the high price).
- Natural, matte finish
