Confession: I wish my lashes were longer and thicker. I think a lot of women feel the same. Are you one of them? I’m always looking for lash products to help me emulate long, gorgeous, look-at-me lashes. Without a good mascara, my eyelashes barely even show up. The kit is used in 3 steps:
- Mascara. Apply the mascara to prep for the fibers
- Extensions. While mascara is still wet, brush on extensions to build lashes
- Mascara. Reapply mascara to seal and set extensions.
You can repeat steps 2 & 3 to further build your lashes. When you’re done, you’ll need to brush off excess fibers that fall to your cheeks.
I notice a big difference when using this duo, mainly with the mascara. My lashes look darker, longer, and thicker. They look natural, not spidery or clumpy.

When I apply the extensions, I get a ton of excess fibers on my cheek area. Most of the fibers are able to be brushed away with my powder brush, but some of them like to stick around. To prevent the fibers from falling onto my face in the first place, I hold a tissue right under my eye while applying the extensions. The tissue catches the excess and I don’t have to deal with it all over my face! I would also suggest doing the three steps of the kit before applying foundation so that it’s easier to remove the pesky fibers if they fall onto your skin.
I wear contacts, so I’m usually disinclined to choose mascaras containing fibers for fear of little pieces irritating my eyes. This kit is perfectly fine for me though. The fibers never migrate into my eyes.
Here’s my completed eye look including the mascara and extensions from the Physicians Formula kit. My lashes look fanned out, long, and dark – just how I like them!
I agree that this product combo is long-wearing on my lashes. There’s no flaking, smudging, or transferring. Then, when I want it removed at the end of the night, it easily washes off with my cleanser.
