It’s been a few months since I’ve done this, but the Birchbox vs. Ipsy showdown is back! This is such a fun post and I’m sad I didn’t get around to it the last few times. I’ve taken both subscriptions and pitted them against each other to see which one was better for the month. Let’s see who won….
Birchbox vs. Ipsy
Birchbox
Cynthia Rowley Beauty | Creamy Lip Stain – Sugar
A vegan creamy long-wearing lip stain. The color glides on easily and goes great with my skin tone. It’s a medium pink. I like it, but I’m not sure that I’d want to pay $20 for the full size. It’s a nice sample size though.

Harvey Prince | Sincerely
An exotic floral scent with notes of Indonesian clove bud, Indian tuberose, Japanese orange flower, and South African Freesia. I don’t have many floral scents in my collection. This one is beautiful and not overly floral, in my opinion. It has enough freshness to it to make it balanced. I have liked most of the Harvey Prince fragrances I’ve come across.

Neil George | Shampoo
Antioxidant-rich shampoo with a blend of botanical extracts that intensify shine. I love the size of this sample! The scent is super fresh, so I’ll definitely be using this soon. A full-sized bottle is a little pricey though. There’s a smaller version in the Birchbox shop for $9.

Neil George | Conditioner
Moisturizing, softening, and detangling conditioner with a scent of grapefruit and sage. I think the scent might be the same as the shampoo. The Birchbox shop also has this one in their shop for $9. Otherwise, I can’t see myself spending $88 on shampoo and conditioner, no matter how much I like them.

TOCCA | Crema de Mano – Cleopatra
Moisturizing cucumber and grapefruit hand cream. I already know I want a full size of this. I love the light scent and how it absorbs so quickly into my skin. My hands are left feeling extremely soft. I know my mom would love this too.
$20, sephora.com
Ipsy
J. Cat Beauty | Fantabulous Gel Eye Liner
Full size product!
A deep blue creamy gel liner. I’ve worn it a couple times already. It’s not a bad liner and it’s very inexpensive. It glides on easily and it’s such a dark shade of blue that it pretty much looks black.
$3.99, jcatbeauty.com
Manna Kadar Cosmetics | Sheer Glo
Shimmer lotion that can be added to foundation or worn alone for a luminous glow. It can be used on face or body. I’ll probably use it on my body rather than my face. I don’t like shimmer on my face. I definitely wouldn’t pay full-price for this.
Nourish Organic | Renewing Eye Cream
A treatment for the eye area that restores, hydrates, and conditions. I’ve been looking for a nice eye cream, so I’ll use this one for awhile. It pretty much seems like a normal eye cream. I’m not sure yet if I’ll buy it when I’m done with the sample. I’ll need to use it regularly to form a true opinion about it.
$19.99, nourishorganic.com
Pacifica | Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow – Ethereal
Full size product!
Creaseless eye shadow infused with coconut water. While this shadow is a full size, it’s not sold individually. It comes in palettes with other shadows. It’s a nice highlight shade.
Real Techniques | Fine Liner Brush
Full size product!
A brush for liquid or cream eyeliner application. I’ve heard so many good things about Real Techniques brushes. I thought it was pretty cool that they included this in my bag since I also got the gel liner. Good pairing Ipsy! It works well too.
Battle Rundown
I think both subscriptions were pretty good this month. I loved how big the shampoo and conditioner samples were in my Birchbox. That hand cream is awesome and the fragrance is pretty nice. On the other hand, Ipsy gave me a few full-sized products. Nothing in my Glam Bag stands out as something I automatically love, but I don’t have any complaints either and I’ll use all of the products.
Who wins?
It’s a tie! I really didn’t like one over the other this month!
