For my birthday (November 19) I gave my boyfriend a small wishlist of items that I wanted. I included a couple of Lush gifts in the list. I love Lush gifts because they give me a chance to try an assortment of Lush products and they’re wrapped all cute. It’s an easy, yet fun, gift to give and receive. I’ve been using the products from the Splash! gift since my birthday and now I can share my thoughts about it.
Splash! gift ($39.95)
Five products inspired by the sea.
Find it here.
Contains:
- Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter
- Sea Vegetable Soap
- Ocean Salt Cleanser
- Seanik Solid Shampoo
- Whoosh Shower Jelly
Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter
About: Softens cuticles and nourishes nails. Can be used on other rough areas too. Find it here.
I love the lemon scent! I’ve used this product before and was happy to get it in this box too. It really moisturizes my dry, dry cuticles. If I didn’t use it, my cuticles would crack and peel and just become a mess. Cracked, ugly cuticles don’t go well with pretty nails. I try to take good care of mine.
Sea Vegetable Soap
About: Soap inspired by the sea, made with seaweed and sea salt. Scented with lime, lavender, and seaweed. Find it here.
I’m not loving this soap, honestly. I love lime, but I’m not smelling much of it in this soap, nor do I pick up the lavender. I’m mainly smelling seaweed and that scent just isn’t appealing to me. On top of that, I’m not much of a bar soap fan, so it’s a bit of a flop for me. I will say, last time I went to Lush I smelled a couple other bar soaps and they were incredible, so maybe I’ll try a different one next time (Baked Alaska maybe?).
Ocean Salt Cleanser
About: A scrub for face and body, containing sea salt, avocado, and coconut. It hydrates, cleanses, and exfoliates. Find it here.
I like using this on my legs for some hydrating exfoliation. I tried it on my face, but tasting the salt was not my favorite part of the experience! I’ll stick with using it on other parts. I’m not sure I’ll get it again though. I have a couple Bath & Body Works scrubs that I absolutely adore.
Seanik Solid Shampoo
About: Sea salt volumizing shampoo bar that softens and adds shine. Scented with mimosa and jasmine. Find it here.
I’ve never used a shampoo bar for my hair, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I rub the bar onto my roots and it creates suds quickly. It’s easy to rinse out and I notice my hair is more shiny after use. This bar has lasted longer than I ever expected it to. I’ve been using it since mid-November and it’s still going strong. When it runs out, I’ll pick a new one out at Lush.
Whoosh Shower Jelly
About: Citrus-scented jelly that breaks down into soap for your body. It’s supposed to wake you up and energize you with a blend of lemon, lime, and grapefruit juices. Find it here.
This was the most intriguing part of the gift box. I love that it starts as a jelly and easily becomes soap. You can rub it directly onto your skin, but for me it’s hard to hold onto because of it’s slippery nature. So, I place a little chunk onto a wet bath sponge and work it into a lather. It’s fast at getting foamy and I LOVE the scent. I’m sad that I ran out already, but I’ll definitely go back for more. It also lasted longer than expected and it didn’t take much to clean my whole body.
Overall, I liked this gift. The only letdown was the bar soap and I’m not crazy about the Ocean Salt Cleanser. The other three products were definite winners though!
