Beauty Box 5 – April 2014

As we’re nearing the end of April (already?!), I have my Beauty Box 5 to share with you.  Whenever I have subscription boxes to blog about, I get a little excited. They’re so much fun and I love to see what other people get in their boxes in comparison to mine.

So let’s jump into what came in my box this month….

BH Cosmetics | California Collection Eyeshadow Palette
This is a little trio of shadows that come in 3 different BH Cosmetics palettes with California city themes – Malibu, San Francisco, and Hollywood. The 3 palettes each contain 16 eyeshadows and 4 face powders. The palettes normally cost $18.95 but they’re on sale right now for $8.95 (53% off!).

Coincidentally, I got this sample before in an Ipsy bag. I love this sample though. The colors are really pretty (purple, brown, and gold) and the quality isn’t bad.  I think one of the best samples to get in a beauty box is an eyeshadow, so this sample made me quite happy, even if I already had it.

Nicka K New York | Hydro Lipstick
Like the name might imply, this lipstick hydrates and conditions. It’s formulated with jojoba oil and available in 24 shades. It retails for just $4.99. Paraben-free.

Another great product to receive in a beauty box! This is obviously a full-sized product. I’ve actually never heard of this brand before, but it seems to be fairly inexpensive across all products. The shade I got is called Daring, which is a vibrant solid red.

Blum Naturals | All Purpose Cleaning Wipes
These wipes are great for anything, even taking off makeup. They’re made with natural ingredients. They’re hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and paraben-free.

This brand is also new to me. This little container houses 30 small wipes. I tested a few products on the back of my hand (including an Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil) and it took everything off very easily. This is great for travel because it’s so small!

Jergens | Natural Glow – 3 Days to Glow Moisturizer
This product is aimed to help you get a nice summer tan in just three days.

The sample includes 3 packets, so I can try it for a full three days. I’m glad about that. I’m usually not one to use tanning products because I really don’t need them, but I don’t mind trying them to let you know how they work. I feel like I need a little mini blog just to update you guys on the samples I try along with other things that don’t need a full blog post. Maybe I’ll start using my tumblr for that.

Bonne Bell | Lip Definer
A lip liner in the color Ash Rose – very neutral reddish brown.

I couldn’t find this product on the Bonne Bell website or anywhere else, so I’m not sure if it’s currently being sold. I haven’t bought anything from the brand in many years. I usually associate it with makeup I used to play around with as a little girl. This lip liner surprised me a little with how much color it gave my lips.

This month’s box was pretty good. I already love the eyeshadow palette and it was great to see a full-sized lipstick in there. I’m glad I’m being introduced to new brands too.
